I haven't read through this entire forum thread, but I've read the first 5 or 6 pages, and both the guides on fundmydegree...
I must say, I really like the casino one more (first impressions anyway). It seems more of a sure thing... Or at least more fun to play...

Quidco is completely optional right? How long do they usually take to pay commissions?
Would anyone be kind enough to explain the advantage in investing more money on the sports side? Doesn't your "free" money from the book makers stay the same regardless of the amount you bet? I can't see the advantage in betting greater amounts of money...

That's exactly right for the casino - but with the matched betting, unless you make an error you are guaranteed to come out up - the small percentage you lose on the 2 bets (usually <£5) is more than made up for by the Free Cash they give you to bet with! (As I can attest to though - there is no protection against human error/stupidity/inability to read

Been having a go at the matched betting over the past few days and all been going fairly well, so thanks for the tips
However I have just made my first mistake ! I couldn't figure out how to use the free bet which had been deposited into my account on stanjames and ended up putting another bet on using my own money. Afterwards I realised where I needed to click to do it and have managed to put a bet on and lay it off at betfair.
However I still have this second bet in the mix from my own money (equal to the bonus amount) which I was going to lay at betfair and take a hit for a few quid. But I got thinking, and decided to leave it. The odds were 2.5 so if it comes in I get a nice return but if I lose I will only be a couple of quid down overall ? Not sure if that will actually make any sense but hey

might be worth laying, as otherwise if you lose that bet, you will be £25 out of pocket - essentially wiping out the bonus, plus be a quid or two down as standard.

Not getting much joy doing both sportingodds and sportingbet :
I've kept on top of sportingodds, claimed 3 of the bonuses, but sportingbet refuse to give me the bonus as I have used the same account name in both - 'doh!
Ah well, my total profit is now £490, pretty good in 3 weeks considering the short amount of time spent.

yeah ive slowed down a bit, both waiting for funds to be credited, as well as spending them
anyway, probably crack on with VC Casino soon, run that alongside sporting odds - then go to sporting bet after that.

Also, starting to regret "playing it safe" and going for just the £50 bonuses, not the bigger £100 or £250 bonuses.
I was doing VC, aiming to go for £250, but at one point I realised I was £80 up, and qualified for the £50 bonus, so decided to just take the money (£130) and run. It seemed the right decision at the time, as I was unsure if I'd even be allocated the bonus (changes in the T+C)
It turns out I have the bonus and am somewhat regretting not going for £250

yeah, probably looking back going for the VC 250 is your best bet.
i started with the smaller bonuses just to get my eye in, and now am looking to hit the bigger ones, given a bit more experience and confidence.
either way, 130 is a nice earner and given a bad run, you could have come away with not much more when going 250 anyway

Woo, was just coming on to say that I did ring them again, this time got the bonus. Yay.

I am better £1 at a time and so far ive wagered up for £50 and have won £12 so i am now on £62 and i originally put in £50. So all is well. But its taking forever. It will take me hours to get to £500 worth of wager. SO my question is, is there any more risk in betting £5 a time rather than £1?
Surly the odds of winning still stay the same, just under 50:50. So wouldnt the risk be exactly the same?
I cant see what difference it makes if you bet £1 of £5, seen as the wins and looses even themselves out over a few hands anyway dont they, isnt that the whole point?
