The 365-day rolling licence is definitely a better way of doing it.
What's this? Never heard of a 365 rolling licence.

Ah, apologies, that's just the terminology they use.
I wish my local club would do it that way, rather than running from 1st January, they're still a bit stuck in the 1960s I think.
Brothers just got his licence. Although his is even more expensive as he’s a carp angler so uses three rods.Yeh I guess so. I know few clubs that do Jan to Dec and subs are due first meeting in Jan.
