Yes it does, I don't think people care about TV's being stolen... it's just general security.

But you can watch reruns of that time the burglars broke into your house, much more useful than a burglar alarm that absolutely nobody ever pays attention to when it goes off

Yeah for a house. Not sure if you've ever been burgled, but going through the process of replacing all your stuff (some of which is irreplaceable) is utterly soul destroying.
The idea with this kit is that you prevent it happening in the first place, e.g. by talking to them to tell them you've notified the neighbours and the police, telling them to get the **** out as you're on your way home, seeing where they are if it happens at night with your family asleep, etc.
Some of the stick up cams are actually for watching bird boxes and hedgehogs in our garden too.
Can I ask how much the subscription is costing you for all of that? As I only have a doorbell and they are hiking it up to £40 a year.

The annoying thing with Ring is their new price hike. It's like £35 a year per camera now for the protect basic plan and it's pretty essential if you want to get the most out of the system.

Currently £80 a year (lump sum in advance) for unlimited devices, extended warranty, cloud storage, and 'professional monitoring' (though I'm not sure what they actually do apart from call you).

If you were especially isolated in some way perhaps elderly or some circumstances like that and its only for a few years then its not a premium too much to ask in comparison to other similar systems. I forgot which make is the cheapest option for this kind of thing but I dont see it would need further company involvement for those who can do hook it up themselves
