Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

I had LASIK when I was 20 and my vision is still perfect at 41. Would recommend.

Personally (assuming your myopia isn't massive), I'd consider Ortho-k. No surgery needed and it's just contacts you sleep in for good vision without needing anything during the day. They also (at least in children) also slow the progression of myopia.

The only con is that it is fairly expensive, really. They custom fit the hard lenses to you.

I'm going to give glasses a go first to see if I can get used to them as a one-off payment that my employer has paid for. I think I would find contacts much less convenient and less comfortable and an ongoing payment I take it?
Yes, it is kinda a subscription model. But you can get a batch that last a couple of years…and you should have an eye test every 2 years anyway and in my experience I get a new pair every time because they get old, tatty, dirty, scratched and change of prescription.

Or you can mix and match, get some single use ones that you can use on occasions like if you are doing sports or feel like it. Even an excuse to get coloured contacts and change your eye colour for laughs if you want.

In my most unexpected plot twist of 2022 so far I had an eye test and was told I needed glasses. I'm 32 and I've never had glasses before and it feels weird with them on and my eyes are a bit confused.

don't worry mate, you look sexy enough to me! ;)

Mid forties and starting to struggle with close sight, so like Stew off to the Opticians. @almoststew1990 the glasses suit you.

My preference would be contacts. No idea if I will ever get on with them. I gouged one eye 20 years ago, eyeball has a scar and sensitive. Whereas glasses, it will be a strange experience.

On a more cheerful note to myself, bought some old toys. :D

New worktops and sink in utility room (can also see tiles on side). The cupboards are old I've just painted them preferred colour

I just fitted the top unit (rebuilt/repurposed from kitchen) and sink.. A bit difficult! Note to self don't buy no name brand sinks. I've used white silicon to take up the undulations in it as it wouldn't tighten
