Same! Cursed 2018 MBP....it's hot garbage.

The new M series macbook are fantastic machines... just saying...

Quiet, cool and really quick. Oh and the battery life is great. I replaced a beefy 2018 MBP with a mid-range M1 macbook pro when they first came out expecting it to be alright but not as good. It blew the old machine out of the water.

I've now got a 14" M1 Pro and its a lovely machine. Not as good battery life as the older M1 but its better in every other way.

I use a M1 Mac Mini 16g RAM at work. It's quite nippy, but could be faster, had it since launch.

Thinking of getting a M1 Ultra Studio at home to replace my old iMac. Will probably order after the keynotes this month.

You do artsy stuff right? I am a programmer so I guess our use cases and performance experience will differ a bit. I got the impression the pro/max/ultra were Apple targeting the creatives sector heavily with the focus on graphical performance, rendering etc.

I got an M1 Pro Macbook recently and it's great, despite having to spend a fortune on a decent thunderbolt dock it's replaced my desktop as well now.

I'm such an apple fanboy these days :rollyes:, this turned up today:
