Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Yep, I'm a cup at a time. Exact same model as @mrk I think. Had it about a year, no problems. I didn't buy it for energy efficiency though, I bought it for speed. I was at my mums last week and it made me realise how annoying waiting a couple of minutes for a kettle to boil is. When you've only got a minute between (virtual) meetings, a cup of boiling water in 30 seconds is very handy.

Efficient as in you're not boiling all the water in the kettle when you just want one cup of tea. Plus a normal kettle accumulates limescale gunk so you don't want to just boil a cup of water in a normal kettle anyway as you will be pouring in limescale too, and if you're rinsing and filling each time, then you're wasting water too... These one cup hot water dispensers are just better all round and only takes about 15 seconds to boil one cup.

Don't they cost 10x the price of a normal kettle though? :p

5x the cost of a kettle then :D
it's not "cheap" for a kettle but honestly, any time I go to my mums or brothers and have to sit there watching their kettle boil for what feels like 2 weeks I end up appreciating my one-cup so much more :D its like 40 seconds and it's done.

I am pretty confident my kettle can boil 1 mug of water in less than 45 seconds.

I normally press down to start the boil when I weight and grind the beans, it takes about 5seconds to weigh it, and about 15 seconds to grind 17g. I am normally ready about a hair just before the kettle is done.

More art.

Need to ring the framers tomorrow to get them booked in.

depends on your water managment in your kettle. I for example used to fill it up and use it through the day so reboiling the same water over and over again until empty.

anyway, let me and mrk enjoy our special kettles ffs.

I love killing a bit of time boiling the kettle. Standing there, checking my phone, having a vape, listening to the chaos of the kids in the next room dreading going back in and breaking up whatever argument has erupted.

More bits for the laptop. I much prefer my Ducky board but figured I would try a Razer board seeing as I have a Razer laptop and I've always been fond of their mice. It's a lot quieter than the loud clicky Ducky and feels like it's made to a decent standard. Still think Ducky are #1 though.

I've been using Mamba mice for the best part of 12 years now so it was a shame when I realised it appears they've been discontinued. The Viper feels more or less like the same but not as high at it's highest point and the side buttons are smaller, will take a bit of getting used to but at least it is wireless again.

dad-of-five is this you ? :p

I got some worktops and a sink.... Also getting a quartz back splash behind my hob but they cut it wrong to fit sockets so it's getting redone (and skipped!)

I posted some more photos and before here:

The after here. Its quite novel having quartz window boards also. The final finish will be tiled above the up stands which will hide the mess...

Oh man that is super nice! Congrats.

Edit: you definitely should have fixed those pipes tho. Minus 1 point.

When you say "fixed" I can't full hide the boiler fill loops, and I will be putting a removable boxing (coloured the same as units) over the section so it will tidy it up nicely.

I was considering I could also tile a removable section but means more effort.

Edit: a picture probably gives better context (yes my boiler is crap - probably why I opted for better future access when it's inevitably replaced... I guess I've over engineered at the cost of underdesigning in that aspect

Ps the upstand piece on the far right isn't glued in yet as it's too short before you point that out <_<. They're replacing that
