Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Yeah, this is what would annoy me. Not only have I got to keep filling it, to just the right amount, but then I have to wait a whole minute?! I'd be late for my next meeting! Mine takes 30 seconds and it still feels like too long. Turn on, crab mug, grab coffee, grab milk, coffee into mug, that's maybe 10 seconds. I have time for a quick bio break to come back and it's just filling. If I had to wait another 20-30 seconds, maybe longer if I'd misjudged the filling... :p

Crab mug you say?

How many years of Ring subs - which include unlimited cloud storage - could you buy for the difference in price between that and a wired Ring doorbell?
As far as I know, the max timeframe for Ring Protect Plus is 180 days. I can store as much as I have HDD space for, back it up how I see fit, and I have no reliance on the cloud or any privacy/security concerns, nor future price rises. It's difficult to compare costs of self hosted versus cloud based. Ring is probably best for most households but I like to be in control of my own data and that part is impossible to calculate into a monetary value.

How is the delay with the chime and Home assistant/homebrigde? I've got a nest doorbell at the moment but want to pick up a G4 at some point, there's about a 5s delay using the nest with homebridge, but then there's about 5s delay using the Google Home devices too
I'll let you know once I test it out, got a lot of other stuff to sort before hooking it into homebridge.

I'm on board with most of this unless someone breaks in and steals my storage lol

Thanks, I've got a G3 camera hooked up to my homebridge already - and it's really good...in iOS/Home it almost feels like a native device and it's 10x faster than the Nest. HKSV even works...

Very true, but aside from them having to know what it is and steal it. They also need to find it :p

Plus I'll be having the additional benefit of having iCloud recording as a backup when I'm away from home for events/motion.

I already have a few cameras, but I don't have Alexa notifications. That works fine with Ring at the moment to our Echo Show in the kitchen, I'm going to try and re-create it.

Yup, recordings are on my NVR, my NAS, iCloud, and encrypted in the cloud.

1 -2 seconds its pretty instant hosted on my pi4. I do have a 2-3 second delay on the physical chime i have but apparently its due to the internal battery getting a bit weaker.

Another 50kg of plates, this time gym division plates taking my total up to 350kg.

What a saga, from paying DPD for Saturday delivery, to them sending ‘damaged’ items back, to 2 hours trying to get my £5 back from them on principal to eventually getting these that were meant to be shipped by UPS, but ended up being DPD again.
