Will be interested in your thoughts on this one, I love a clam shell console!

Okay, after about 5hrs, I've finally got it working!

Most of the time was waiting for some files to transfer to be fair, but it's noy plug and play and certainly cannot game out of the box. But now it's working, tested Super Mario and Sonic and both works fine. I am not sure about games with multi disc on how they would work yet....cross that path another time.

But first impression.

Build quality is good, not Nintendo level but certainly decent.

Software is Android, you might like it or hate it. The good is that I got Xbox Game Pass working straight away and off I go, but it crashed the game on me when i try to click out of the game and go back in. It didn't like that.

The screen is a bit small for some games, especially modern games. Playing Jedi Fallen on that....good luck reading the menu lol Lots of squinting required, but it works.

With my limited time on it after setting it up with retro stuff, it's good. I do think the ABXY buttons can be a little larger, even the Miyoo Mini's buttons are larger than this. It's a weird decision to make them this small, they are also a little taller...i guess proportionally if they were a little larger, it would be perfect. They are fine, does the job but could be better.

The Analgoue trigger is nice, but the L1/R1 button can be awkward if you have chubby fingers.

The screen is lovely, nice colours and saturated too. The speakers are not great though, they work but you are better off with headphones if you are playing more modern games. They are facing the back which is a bit silly, but 16bit or older games sounds okay though as they were hardly massive orchestral powerhouses. They really are weak as heck when try to watch a YouTube video, it has no bass whatsoever and not loud at all even at max volume. It does have a 3.5mm Jack and Bluetooth.

Battery life is decent, i spent 5hrs with it on setting it up and have 50% battery left.

Overall, my first time setting up an andriod machine, it took a while, things went a bit wrong with some keymapping after following a guide which wasted me 30mins. If someone handed this to me all set up though I would give this a 8 or even 9/10, but right now, it feels like an 7/10 due to some hiccups in setting up.

@Raymond Lin Thank you for that! This is definitely top of the list for my next toy :D

Yeah, it's not perfect but my main gripes with it at mostly the sound (can be bypassed) and set up (guess you only need to do it once).

It feels strange having a touchscreen on a device this small though.

oh, I feel like may be the black or the grey version might be the best colour to have. Definitely not the Sports Red, that would scratch so easily.

Did you ever have a GPD XD? It was good, but not great. I'd love a newer version of the Nvidia Shield Portable, absolutely loved that one

Seeing this reminded me to get my PSP OLED Vita out again.

New battery charger to hopefully breathe a little life into the AGM battery on my Mini (needed a new charger anyway as mine is a 20 year old halfords one with leads that are verging on unsafe :D)

I've got the Noco 10, use it all the time at work it's never off. It's revived a fair few old batteries and keeps others going.

The monitor I rather accidentally bought on an auction site has arrived. Despite being clearly listed as 'unit only' and with photos of just a screen and no stand... it arrived with a stand!

Cables hidden to avoid triggering most of you

I'm triggered by that tiny sticker on the arm of the Aeron - get it shifted :D

I'm triggered by the obvious wiring mess he's censored, but I'm also a massive hypocrite :D
Looks like the stickers are for remembering a different language?

Love my UW. It's made web development much more convenient with adjacent windows then I get to fire up games later in the evening in ultrawide glory.
