Genuine question, do you already ride or is this a 'teach an old dog new tricks' type scenario?
I've been eying a few up for a while to learn but i'm not sure if i'm a bit past it and should just go straight to the mid-life crisis cliche of a yellow Porsche
I haven't ridden for at least a decade, so a bit old dog new tricks! I bailed once trying a heal flip and my god it never used to hurt that bad :D

You're prolly the best man to ask - today I saw a bloke turning a corner with a massive antenna on his roof, probably about 8ft tall. His car was clearly just an average civvie car with no markings or branding on it, which makes me think he's a hobbyist. He was rather actively chatting in to a little radio handset, the "You got your ears on?" type. I've always known radio fans to listen in to all manner of channels but do they also use these channels to chat to each other?
Biggest open ended question in the world.

It could be absolutely anything. Probably the most common amateur radio aerial on cars is a half wave on 144 MHz and 2x 5/8 on 430 MHz. If it was a straight whip at about 8ft long then it’s most likely a CB aerial (a 1/4 wave is 9ft). Was he actually holding a hand held radio like the one I posted earlier or a microphone?

Without context, it could be literally anything on any band.

I'mm 99% certain it was CB. He was talking in to one of those handheld mics with a push button on the side and a curly cord to the main receiver, exactly like the ones cops used to use. Could have been talking to his kids for all I know :D

You’ve described a microphone like I have in the car. They’re all pretty similar, a mic with a push to talk on the side and a curly cable.

Yep. Come to think of it I'm not helping narrow it down! Even our security at work use them on their radios. Ah well, I'll just remember him as the 2020s Smokey :D

Not sure if anyone else has asked? But what software is running on that Surface Pro? I had the idea for this many years ago but I hardly look at the calendar on my phone! Let alone one in the house but that looks like a neat setup! :)
It is Home Assistant, running in a docker container on a Synology NAS, and then feeding to full screen edge on the windows 10 Surface Pro. so far works really well, and easy to use once setup.

Missed a trick there, should have just got the mobile version.

The pc versions are far too detailed these days for me

I think you are right, I started it and not even got to the first match and was overwhelmed with options from even creating my character!!! I've not played 2hrs of it yet so I can just get a refund and then get the mobile version for £3.99.
