The more worrying thing is producers are thinking of stopping releases on optical media.

That'll be a sad day when I have to wonder if a film I specifically want to watch is A)on a particular streaming service, and B)even available depending on whether the distribution license has expired and C) whether it's been censored or otherwise altered compared to how it was when I saw it previously

That's decreasing - my local Tesco no longer stock any CDs/DVDs/Blu-rays. Asda are likely following as have halved their shelf space in recent months
