That looks funThe musical calculator arrived; Teenage Engineering EP-133
It’s pretty immediate fun but there’s some definite muscle memory required. Apparently a good 20 hours battery life so this will be sat on the coffee table for some pick up and play jams. No way as advanced as the deluge but it’s good for laying out some ideas and messing about with live performanceThat looks fun
I have a Synthstrom Deluge away getting its OLED screen retrofit upgrade installed. Hopefully.....soon....
Battery power is a massive plus. Had to travel for work recently and I was able to just sit and noodle on the Deluge and whiled away the hours in no timeIt’s pretty immediate fun but there’s some definite muscle memory required. Exactly this, the mastering and general production quality >>>>>>>>>>>>>> a source file being FLAC or whatever else as long as it's not some ancient mp3 encoded with 128K VBR or something. I've got FLAC albums that are really poor quality masters whilst have a lot on a SPotify audiophile playlist that sound so good that in a blind test anyone would be convinced they are listening to direct master files. And Spotify hasn't launched it's lossless streaming mode yet!I have my CD collection as flac but honestly I mostly listen to Spotify, I've tried every streaming service out there but Spotify does the best at finding new music for me and that's what I crave the most, DACs aren't just about running everything in FLAC/DSD, a lot of it is about the presentation of the sound, the Qutest for example gives you a very holographic soundstage with good air between the instruments, nice natural tonality, and non fatigueing to boot.
