Bought a USB-C to DisplayPort cable...

Can run at 240 Hz 4K over DisplayPort on my monitor, as good as my HDMI 2.1 cable.

I've bought a sheet that you plug in and be grounded. It's been a weird few days. They're meant to help with inflammation which my wife has a lot of issues with and there's a lot of anecdotal support and a few loosely scientific papers on it. Fitted it on Sunday and i've had 2 brilliant nights sleep since. Woken up a few times during the night but then dropped back off, but the quality of the sleep feels better. Same with some aches i have which feel reduced.

My wife on the other hand has had 2 terrible nights sleep, and woken up feeling like she has a fever.

Both these effects suggest that the sheet itself is having an impact one way or the other. Either of the above could be explained by normality. My wife often has bad patches where she's in more pain than others, and mine could be explained by a lack of alcohol finally having an impact on me, but timing seems co-incidental.

Going to stick with it for a couple weeks, but it has a lengthy return period for trials.

You do you matey, it's probably a load of rubbish but a lot of healing is mental so placebo products are arguably worthwhile.

But I strongly doubt that bedsheet is interwoven with metal fibres and then connected to a plug for grounding purposes.

100% it's weird it's having an effect on us both (in different ways), but as you say, i think there's a good chance it's mental or the effects are driven by other factors.

The main annoyance is the cost of these things. Although this is a cheap chinese version :p

You should try a shatki pad if you have muscle pain - it's like bruteforce acupuncture

Try it in the live side and see if it helps more?

Keep eyeing those up on Amazon (the cheap versions)

My issue is i never stick with things for long and so have a huge build up of foam rollers, massage guns, spikey balls etc. This sheet just needs me to sleep!

100%, placebo effect is powerful so enabling it is valid. Even if that involves spending money or taking the magic pill, doing the hokey cokey on a special rug etc.

I was raised on homeopathy and other woo stuff and ultimately I've seen lots of it "work" so I try to be open to weird **** :P

Not custom no, it's not out for another month so model is [undisclosed] until then  - It's carbon fibre (frame/fork) and has a Ananda 350W motor for PAS, 7 speed Shimano groupset.

Who are you reviewing for? And how long do you generally get to keep the bikes for?

Do you review anything else?

That's some shine on that chair.

I got some OpAmps, OPA828 to be precise.

What are these for? The reason I ask is I bought the K11 R2R based on your recommendation, love it. If you’re getting upgrades though, I want them too :D

I got matching grips for the earlier bike too! Can't beat colour matching.

This is for Meowin.net, I keep the stuff forever which is one bonus but I also use them as I would anything I buy so look for issues that I'd generally notice myself etc.

Yes all manner of tech.

These are for my new speaker amp (Aiyima A80) currently in transit still. Opamps dictate the signature and clarity of sound you hear basically and the stock opamps are good on it but the 828s are a league ahead which better suit my speakers.

The K11 R2R is not going anywhere as it's immense and may well just be my endgame for headphones.

Fantastic isn’t it? I ended up getting a pair of DT1990 Pro as well to go with it, I’m in sound heaven.

Nice! Do you review for anyone else too? Is this a side-hustle or a full time thing? How'd you land this gig?

Cheers :)

I do some YouTube videos too but in terms of outlets just Neowin though I did eTeknix for a short stint which spawned off from the early ocuk days and hexus forums. Ocuk send me stuff too.

It all started when I would review stuff I bought on forums like 15 years ago and the Neowin admins got in touch. Now each week different brands email offering a choice of things and If I like the look of them, pick a colour and wait for delivery

It's a side gig yeah, fills the weekend free time slots for sure.

Remember those rubber strips that people used to hang on their cars in the 2000s. Was meant to reduce motion sickness and also prevent static shocks when exiting the car.

I always thought it a bit odd as cars tend to have fairly well observable bits of rubber between the road and the occupants but they seemed to sell rather well :p

Valentine's Day is coming soon, so I brought a ring for a special someone and a humble necklace to give her before Valentine's Day.

I'm trying my best not to think about the cost, but how many shifts I need to work to cover the ring and it works out better that way, but totally worth it. :p
