Yeah. It’s mainly useful for multiple devices with the added benefit of 5Ghz WiFi, always have the VPN enabled for all things attached and adblock.

If you just have your phone and stay in your room and you use VPN on the phone then it’s not much benefit.

I got it to get past the Captive Portal so I can hook up a chromecast to the hotel TV….but I can’t get access to the TV in this hotel it made the reason getting it redundant lol. At least I got my laptop, iPad L, steam deck and phone connected.

I completely forgot my Pixel can connect to the wifi and sign in to the captive portal, and then create a hotspot! Dunno how good it'll be, but we'll see

No, VPNs work fine in China, you can tunnel out and access whatever you like. The CCP won't kick your hotel door in or anything

Which VPNs? I've tried several during the 3 times I've been this year and all failed.

Last year I didn't have any issues.

Samsung Galaxy Book 5 fell into my bag today. It's proving dangerous having a Samsung Experience Store between me and Waitrose. Really liked the GB4 - this is a bit faster (not much) but the battery life seems bonkers good so far. Currently showing 75% and 18 hours left?! Not sure how that will continue, but we shall see.
