Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Is it me or is that monitor levitating?
It has an extending arm :-)

The camera and screen resolution are excellent but the mechcanics that hold the camera are poor. There (was) a lot of wobble which simply could not be elimninated by tightening the clamp screws. I'm still working on it, but one aspect was the awful design of the sliding mount with the rack and pinion drive mechanism. The column is an extruded aluminium rod with two semi-circular slots mating with lugs to supposedly stabilise it. The lugs were a loose fit so nothing could be done without a drastic modification. So power up the lathe and mill :-) What you see below is the lugs having been milled off and a semi-circular insert made from bronze-filled PTFE. Play is taken up by the two grubscrews you can see (this is replicated on the other side of the column). Now it's firm and slides nicely.

Another idiotic design: there is a taper on the the end of the lens holder such that the diameter gets slightly smaller towards the very end. Impossible to clamp the ring light securely as the more you tighten it the more tendency there is for it to slip down - and eventually fall off altogether. So I machined up a ring with an internal 1 deg taper which twists onto the lens - and it stays put. There is a groove for the clamp screws to sit in so it cannot slip off.

However that's not the end of this story due to stupid design decisions in other places. My OCD gets triggered by such things and I will do whatever it takes to make it operate perfectly.

That's fantastic. I didn't realise that the camera is in the "foot", I thought that was just a stand, which for some reason had buttons in it.

I love your bench, you should post up some of the stuff you make

That looks excellent.
How much and where from?
is there also any way of capturing images from it?
Well you can get them on Amazon for around £300 for the 10.1" MAX version, and on Aliexpress for a lot less if you don't mind waiting 2 weeks. It is widely discounted. There are different models and I think this is the most expensive. It comes with a 64GB microSD card for storing images/videos, and has USB out for connecting to a PC directly. Also HDMI out for 4K streaming (simple monitor display or feed it into OBS on your PC). It will display on PC and external screen at the same time.

Camera and screen are a unit and must have been designed for some other use as there is a totally useless 1/4"x20 threaded hole visible only if you tilt the screen backwards. The stand was designed by the tea-lady in her spare time - all 10 minutes of it.

Many reviews on YouTube just search Tomlov.

I mainly do repairs or generally mess about with small circuits, though I did make myself a 2-channel power supply from readily available modules. Nobody ever accused me of not using enough metal when I construct a case for my projects :)

My son is into F1 and football - playing in two teams at the weekend.
He recently watched the Netflix Senna drama series and also the 'Senna' film produced in 2010.

Puma recently launched these limited edition (350 worldwide) Ultra 5 Senna boots, so when he came to me asking for them I couldn't say no. They look ace !

Had an idea to get 2 speed bumps for my garage

To make it faster and easier to park this close.

I think some more upgrades are on the cards for the garage. Flooring, lighting improvements and maybe some paint for the walls.

Pfft. How times have changed. In my dad's day it was a marker pen on the wall for the wing mirror. Posh kids had tennis balls hanging off of the roof.

You've actually bought something instead of raiding the wood store

You can actually see the remnants of my thought process with the old loft boards that gave me the idea in the first place. It didn't get very far.
