Yes, since 5 installs alongside 4 you simply run 5, tell it (when prompted) to choose an already existing catalog file (the LR4 catalogs are stored in c:/users/YOU/Documents/Lightroom) and it will ask to update that catalog to support LR 5 and also store the updated catalog in new location that LR5 uses which is in c:/users/YOU/Pictures/Lightroom. It won't delete or change the LR4 catalog so you might want to manually archive or delete it once successfully updated to LR5 standard as it will be several GB of disk space freed up.

When you restart LR5 it will load up where you left off in LR4.

I'll need to finish this batch to come to a solid verdict but so far it appears to be a bit swifter than version 4.4 although I didn't really have any performance issues with that anyway (although exporting did use a lot of CPU power).

I'll update this post tonight as I will be finished by then.
