Let me know what the charcoal lighter is like Ray please :)

Will do :)

I also picked up a box of fire starter for £2, wouldn't think I need many under the chimney so should last all summer.

Do those JD chips work?

I hope so! I need to read up on the whole smoking meat business first, I've only been using disposable so far.

I just bought a Panasonic TXL60ET5B 60-inch LED-backlit TV. Edge LEDs. Its a brilliant set and has completely and utterly transformed PC gaming, tv and movies for me.

I play all my PC games on this thing. The immersion is massive. Im only 2.3 meters from the screen so it looks even more immense :D

For comparision..my old 37 inch Panasonic...

And then...BAM! :D

(In case youre wondering - thats the "30 Days of Night" movie hee hee)

Ive replaced the side stools and rubbish table with a matched black pair. This was taken about a week before those arrived.

Got this clamp to secure it. Its very top-heavy!

Really happy with performance. No lagging noticed at all. It has a Game mode. Tested it with heavily modded Skyrim and FSX. Gaming has been transformed. I dont just play the game..I feel like im IN it.

And to top it all off...came with 5yr cover included.

:(

I know! Thats next on the list. Have to let poor credit card recover first :p

I have no idea when it comes to speakers. The room is small so massive bass isnt needed. But still want a decent sub. I like those tall slimline speakers. If you guys are speaker gurus please recommend :)

Head over to the HiFi Forum, Lucid is your man !

I recommend BK Gemini for a small room, this little box will add so much more depth to your gaming and movies than you could only dream of.

I think your heading in the right direction with tall speakers. I think they would go well what about some Cambridge audio s70's :)

Thanks dude I will do that once Ive got the ££ ready for a purchase!! One thing I dont want are those messy 5.1 systems with weeny speakers in the corners and stuff. Just want two smart ones with a sub. Or maybe those soundbar thingies.

But yea will ask Lucid/Hifi forum :)

No soundbar !!!!

I personally don't like them, proper 5.1 wins every time.

You don't need massive speakers, the 2 most important speakers are the centre/sub. The dialogue and majority of the sound comes from the centre so it is important that is a good one. The sub provides atmosphere. The 4 corners speakers are mainly for surround sound...duh ! lol But it is, they are more like for knocking on doors, cars zooming pass, wind, and things that move around. You can get a pair of nice speakers for the front for some good stereo sound going for music but for movies it is not as important.

I swear those are Dell PC speakers. Saw some very similar in a pile of crap going onto the recycling truck at work today!

As Raymond says no soundbars. They're the work of the devil. I wouldn't swap my 5.1 setup. Period.

That's amazingly huge. Love how your speakers have been barged off the stand and onto stools. :D

Lol never thought of it like that but funny now you mention it :D

Amazing TV. Those speakers have gotta go though!

Thanks man :) And yes will get rid ASAP of the speakers. Shockingly they boom really well...the small Dell sub can thunder. But they *LOOK* rubbish so they have to go.

Ahh ok thanks for that feedback :) I wouldnt mind the 5.1 for the surround effect but....all those wires trailing about :( thats the only reason Im a bit reluctant. And yes agree the front speakers and sub are really important.

Lol you are right :D They are Dells. Came with an old Dell laptop I got. Cant wait to match the new tv to some good lookin speaks! And thanks for the warning about soundbars will keep away lol.

4 of these

add a B&W centre (as a lot of B&W share the same metal dome tweeter) so you have the same tonality across them all.

Add a BK Gemini.

BAM !!! Now that's home cinema !

Wicked looking centre speaker unit  But I go into a bit of a panic when I see unprotected speaker cones  Maybe you can fit a grill to something like that? Id be terrified of something punching through the cones lol. Or one of my drunk ass friends hitting a cone with a Wii remote. (Now you know why the TV has a screen guard lol) :D
