Firstly, it is an actual wrong in my view.

Snip

This ^ is the bit that needs some explanation, really. How does it qualify as a wrong? By which I mean; what is the harm in it?

Some 40-year-old dude living in his parents' spare room collecting drawings of nearly-nude, possible underage girls is obviously weird. But, y'know, I don't see that it causes problems for anyone else.

Apparently, sections 62 - 68 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009, were brought in because UK law thinks:

"that there is a natural progression in the expression of paedophilia, with individuals moving from fantasy to acting out of the fantasy. In such cases, [cartoon] images are considered to encourage such a progression."
you will be committing an offence if you possess non-real, non-photographic images that are pornographic, "or portray a range of sexual acts" "with or in the presence of a child".

So it appears that the law takes this rather seriously, rightly or wrongly.

A quick caveat: I'm not at my PC so I cannot fully substantiate this, apologies if any of it is incorrect.

Lol @ you guys, making this thread worthwhile. He should get his own thread to post his stuff in at this rate!

Tbh I'd rather he was collecting those kinds of pictures than real ones! (If he was THAT type of bloke) Having watched a fair bit of anime myself, I couldn't bring myself to buy things like these, but hey differen strokes for different folks!

I did think I killed the thread with my serious business post. Phew! Ironically, I'm waiting for Parcelfarce to deliver me a special something today (a British Infantry Officer's sabre!) which is actually dangerous. So I'm almost a hypocrite.

I don't think buying a sword and buying pictures of scantly clad under-age girls is comparable.

Don't see the problem with either to be honest. Its just a hobby.

Neither is my cup of tea really but each to their own.

Similar to the guy that has loads of deactivated weapons. Pretty cool, but not my thing!.. nor could I afford it! :D

Problem is, a lot of people can't tell the difference between reality and what's not real.

It's like that first mission in Call of Duty where you act as a terrorist and kill everyone in the airport or you play as a "terrorist" in CSS or the 1000's of people I have killed in games in Battlefield to burning down towns in C&C in the name of Kane!

Killing people in a game doesn't make me a murderer or playing GTA doesn't make me want to go out and steal a car and run people over and watching Anime or collecting posters or figures of "girls" doesn't make me have a interest in under-age human girls.

I would like to see this and others you have.

It's one of my goals in life to purchase a hand forged Katana but these can cost £1000's and my own suit of samurai armour which can cost even more. :o

I do concur!

Yep great post. I do look forward to seeing your posts. Would also like to see the room where you put all this stuff.

That analogy doesn't quite work I'm afraid.
