It is indeed Mrk, I ordered online, I'm nowhere near their shop/cafe. It's actually rather delicious, but anything would be after drinking Tetleys at work :p I prefer it over the Punjana tea I've been drinking at home.

Will be trying some of their other blends once I've got through these 250 cups

Ah excellent! Also get yourself to a big Tesco too as they have increased their tea range, I posted a few I got the other day and I'd highly recommend them if you like rich golden tea with lots of flavour, especially the Kenyan black leaf tea!

I wouldn't mind seeing it :p

Here it is, then. :)

Not the most stunning of military items but it's a very tactile piece and it slots onto my Mosin Nagant like a glove (many don't fit). The legend goes that Russian WWII military doctrine forced soldiers to always have these bayonets fitted - so deeply ingrained was this thinking that the arsenals producing the rifles actually zeroed the sights to fire most accurately only when the bayonet was fitted (its weight on the end changes the balance and harmonics of the gun considerably).

More details inside the spoiler tags.

Here's a closer look at the socket end. It's stamped '1885'.

I tried to get a snap of the cruciform section. You can see that it is basically a large flat-headed screwdriver. To take apart the Mosin Nagant rifle you need to undo two screws. This bayonet fits those screws. Crafty Russians!

Oh, and I bought this nifty sander to make the sword stand above too. :)

I don't get it, why would you want something that has a sole purpose of killing people? Let alone display it! :p

If you love history there is nothing nothing that comes close to owning, looking after and researching real items. Read all the books you want, watch all the TV shows; it's only when you pick up this stuff and turn it over in your hands that you can be transported back in time and, to some extent, understand what people had to endure. Also, I like it for all the killing I do. At night.

Good response :)

Screen calibrator?

Can it do multiple monitors, and can you use it for TV's?

Multiple screens yes but it's not really made for TVs though it will do printers and projectors. There's no reason why you can't use it on a TV though to fine tune the OSD colour settings as you can put it on the TV, set the panel type and take a reading with it connected to a PC/Laptop/Windows tablet and then adjust the OSD until the readings reach a desired level I guess.

TV is more of a side benefit to be honest, I would like to get my screens and laptop screen calibrated though, what model is it?

Thanks for the tip Mrk, will have to check Tesco out and replace the Tetleys/PG habit at work :o Not sure how far away you are from the All About Tea place, but if you want I can send you a couple of tea bags in a sealed container :p

Need to stop drinking so much of the stuff, think I've had about 5-6 cups today!

This is the i1 Display pro but there is also the Colormunki Display which is exactly the same probe but minus the additional advanced features. If you just want to calibrate your screens then the Colormunki will do the job using the bundled software. The only downside is that the Colormunki is held back by the software as for some reason Xrite saw fit to make measurement readings much slower on the lower model even though the hardware is the same.

Very much appreciate that offer but there's really no need as it's merely 15 minutes or so away from work hence the mentioning of walking there at lunch :p I'll make way there one day soon though

I don't drink tea at work because of a few things chief of which is that the kettle is a bit rank and water in that area of Portsmouth isn't brilliant for a good brew either so tend to go to one of the many cafes around Gunwharf instead!

Haha fair enough :p By all accounts it's supposed to be a great place to go, almost all of the reviews I read of it were pretty damned good, and the tea is fantastic. We unfortunately have to use a hot water urn at work so the water is never going to be great, but so far so good - nice tasty tea, far and above the usual work stuff.

I'll certainly be checking out the massive Asda Walmart and Tesco stores near work though, I fancy something nice and strong - I've been doubling up on the tea bags of late to get the strength I like :o
