I made half the cost back selling both my previous screens so the cost wasn't really that bad considering I paid over £400 for the 27" Dell last year alone!

Good to hear that from you Robbie, means it isn't a problem with my graphics card or cable then!

Look forward to reading your writeup.

No problem, curiously there didn't appear to be any visual difference between having it on and off. Did you find the same?

Yeah, I couldn't see the difference at all, I would like to try it side by side with my 30" Dell which is 8 bit also to see if 8+2 looks any different but I can't do that unless I buy another LG 34 when I get home.

Wow I like the look of that screen, still in the market for a new screen myself mainly for photo editing, what made you switch from what you had mrk?

Also looking forward to the write up. I also use the xbox through mine I guess that would look rubbish on that screen?

All done in monitors forum :p

I switched because of a few reasons.

1: New toy :cool::D:p
2: To get rid of dual screens and have a sleeker looking single screen setup that can do the job of 2 screens without the clutter, power draw and extra mass of wires.
3: With dual screens I would move my head from one screen to the other, now I just move my eyes left and right, all on one screen, one angle, one screen to calibrate... You get the idea.
4: Videos and games have way better immersion at this size and aspect ratio :D

Ive used one of those ultra wide screens, couldn't get on with it! Nice buy all the same :)

Ooh was it the same screen or another brand 21:9? Be interested to know! This is my first use of an ultrawide, before this I had no interest in them as they are were all the wrong size and/or resolution. The UM95 is the first of its kind to the market so far and Dell are due their version soon IIRC.

Really tempted but may opt for the Asus ROG G-Sync when it is out for my main screen and keep my 30" Dell on the side.

I do love the LG 34" for a single monitor setup though!

Look forward to your thoughts if you go the Asus route! Though have you seen the Asus thread about the RMA problems?

It was a Dell of sorts, not quite 34" but not far off it either. I found myself constantly resizing windows to get them to suit, rather than just maximising or setting it to the left or right hand side of the desktop.

With dual screens I always set one directly in front of me and one to the side, the amount of people at work or friends I know who have it so the break between the screens is right in the middle of their line of sight makes me die inside a little bit everytime I see it :p

:o *cough*

But yeah, when I had duals the 27 was directly in front, the 24 in portrait mode to the left of it :p No need to resize any more windows now once they're in place! 1440 pixels high is a real benefit :)
