I made a magnetic wooden knife block, technically bought the bits required.

Need to oil it yet and sand down the back properly.

^ Any build log? What size/type magnets did you use?

Looks pretty awesome.

No, I should have done thinking about it. I used 2x 12mmx3mm neodymium in each hole in a 4x4 grid. Still had to go very close to going through the wood to make it work well, wasn't too bad with a 14mm forstner drill bit.

Cheers!

Looks cool, I'd be far too tempted to see if it improved the chances of hitting the block when throwing the knives though :p

Don''t tempt me :p

Wow, you must be... thrilled :/

;):p

What is it? SD card reader module or something?

GDROM emulator for Dreamcast, you can play game images from an SD card, I should be able to fit most of my games on it (extracted them from the discs with the Dreamcast network card ages ago for PC emulator.

Quieter DC, slightly faster loading, and one button to change to the next disc (great for shenmue!).

How strong is the magnetic hold? Does it fall off when driving on uneven/bumpy road surface?

I've not been having much look at all with phone holders recently. They keep breaking! I think I'll give that one a try.

It's very strong, you need to pull it quite briskly to take the phone off. On my car's suspension and the roads I've been on the past few days it's not fallen off or budged. It feels like it will wobble as well but really it sits there. centre of gravity and the way it's held and all that I guess.

Very nice! Should look even better once the oil brings out the grain.

Mineral oil is a good oil to use for chopping boards etc. Some use vegetable or olive oil, but they can go rancid. mineral oil wont and is food safe. You can get it from Ikea, sold as chopping board oil I believe, or even chemists should stock it.
