At a guess, that's an ipod to wireless beltpack adapter.

ipod->3.5mm
3.5mm->1/4" jack
1/4" jack to mini xlr or similar.

Why can't bike manufactures have decent looking exhausts as standard? (obviously what looks decent is subjective but most OEM bike exhausts look crap)

This is the OEM exhaust. As well as being fuggly it weights a few tonnes. Oh and those triangle shaped exhaust are horrid. I'm looking at you Kawasaki.
