Georege Daniels is only unique as he made it personally. It is a bit like Anel Adams photographs.

You are paying for the name, he touched it. Watches like Rolex is attached to the company, not the watch maker who made it.

Disagree there. There are some genuinely unique watches in existence, albeit at astronomical prices.
If you really want something special, forget Rolex et al, get a George Daniels :
Agree, I recently bought this book : Worlds Most Expensive Watches and there are some very special pieces amongst the pages. It's written by the author of a blog to watch and well worth checking out, great photography too :)

You're right that any watch can be remade, just look at the homage sector as evidence. Perfectly fine watches made with high levels of machining quality and using good Japanese or in some cases Swiss ETA movements.

What I don't agree with though is when you say that they still can't be unique unless they're hand made by one man, like George Daniels. I feel you're confusing things a bit here as to what is interpreted by the very word.

For me, as an example, I don't care if it's made by a man or a robot. If it has a design that I like and feel is somewhat special to that of the immediate competition and has something just pops about it compared to them then that's unique in my books and is well worth a go.

To that end the Halios and HydroConquest got compliments for being nice looking watches rather than the brand on the dial. I don't think anyone will bat an eyelid at this Tudor though because it is more discreet than the other two but those that know it will appreciate it like I do and that's all it needs to be for now :p

new tech to go with the guitar and new amp

yes yes, one of these days I'll take a decent picture using a camera that isn't a potato.

Shoulda gone analogue :p

I did consider one of the 4/8 track recorders available from boss - back in the day 4-track tape recorders were the ****! But everything seems to be usb/flash memory these days. I can use this thing to play 'live' or save phrases and record/backup via usb to my pc.

A mate suggested an external sound card and cubase vst to record etc as it gives you a complete studio on your pc, but I spend too much time in front of a computer at work and I don't want to have to play a bit, click the mouse a bit, then play some more, then click some more.
I know cubase is a powerful tool for recording, but it's just another complex bit between me and the guitar, whereas a pedal(s) is more streamlined between the guitar and the amp than a pc.

What is the new amp?

I have a looper, MUCH smaller though :p

Amp is a Laney LA65D acoustic amp http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=27029326&postcount=9981

It repeats all my bad playing over and over and over :p

Yer, the loopstation does the same thing for me, the only advantage is that I can now play badly on three channels with overdubbing and effects ...all slightly out of time when I stab the foot-switches too late/early :D

Fortunately it comes with quite an extensive manual so I should be able to learn how to use it properly. I'm also going to use it as a training tool to improve my timing, as it leaves a little to be desired at times.

It's the Taylor 314ce I've had on here before.

You must remember ;)

The acoustic amp is better suited to semi acoustic guitars and their pickups/microphones/sound resonating than an amp designed for chugging :D

I do now! God damn, I love that guitar!

And it makes sense that you bought a massive looper board as opposed to a pedal, you don't need and overdrives!
