a parcel from OCUK

a ridiculously overexpensive £10 gigabyte keyboard

really wish I hadn't been a tight scots git and dropped the money on a nice mechanical now

A couple of torches for walking over the winter. On the right is a Solarstorm T4, 4 x XML U2 emitters, genuine 8 bajillion Chinese lumens, on the left is some generic 4 x XML2 T6 emitter torch, no idea on the output as the manufacturer chose not to list (read: exaggerate) it.

How big are those torches... They both look quite large from the handle on the left one, looking for a decent "big" torch to have in the cupboard.

They're not as big as they look, I'd personally for for the Solarstorm, you can pick one up from Fasttech for around £20 inc. postage if you're willing to wait a while for delivery.

That torch on the left looks like something from Alien. I can just imagine going into the nest and turning it on and the huge beam lighting the place up like daylight.

Unfortunately, they all offer the same failing, which is that the opening for the magnetic charging port isn't wide enough to allow the official Sony DK48 dock to work...

As I've managed to pick up 6 cases for less than £10 (2x clear, 4x coloured), so I will have a play with trying to open up the hole on a couple of them to allow the DK48 to work properly.

That clear one is an absolute fingerprint magnet!

I think it's a shame when people buy expensive phones and then spend as little as possible on such horrid cases. They don't even offer much protection. Cases rarely save a phone from a breaking fall, they just soak up a few scratches and add bulk.

I'd personally use a high quality skin instead.

These will be something that I can throw on when I know that I will need to put the phone down somewhere dirty, such as in the garage.

Otherwise, it'll stay naked. What's the point in spending lots of money for that purpose?

Everyone uses their phones differently. 95% of the time, mine is sat on my desk, on the arm of the sofa, in my trouser pocket, or in the magnetic dock on charge overnight. The remaining 5% is when I'm out in a dirty garage, and there's no clean surface to put it down on, and I don't want it in my pocket whilst crawling under a car.

So, for me, spending < £10 on 6 cases is a no brainer. It's not what you'd do, that's fine, I understand that.

It's a just a little quirk I have.
Friends literally putting their phone into a harness when i've made calls using their phone, and then they swap it out in a year or so anyway.

Went to brewery yesterday for a few cases here is a selection. Also my first Tassimo selection arrived :)
