They're tiny, 10cm in diameter. Good for soups, creme brulees, cauliflower cheese and stuff though I imagine.

That is the entire point of them, boiling point water burns coffee/tea.

I can't see it making that much of a difference.
Actually a regular kettle costs more to run than something like this since it only boils the amount of water needed for one mug.
Whereas a kettle doesn't work unless it's completely full.
