New card :) toyed with the idea of a 290x after the whole RAM fiasco, but the more I found out the more the GTX 970 fit the bill. It replaces a very old HD6870. So far I'm impressed with the performance, and by how incredibly quiet it is compared to the Twin Frozr II thing that was on the 6870. I'm pleased. :)

Also rang vodafone this morning with the intention of leaving and going to three, sim only. Ended up staying for £10.20 a month, 12 month sim only 4G, 3GB data, unlimited texts and minutes. Not bad.

I've used the ZxR headphones and sound card on my PC and found the software to be 'ok'; sufficient for what its there to do but a little buggy. The X7 software on the Mac is on the same level as the PC version, still some bugs when you try and do a sound test but they can be overcome and the changes made. I've experienced worse when using motherboard software bundles tbh.

Obviously it hasn't put me off buying Creative products!

Funnily enough, I've got a 6870 too at the moment and have been wondering if a cheap 970 would fit the bill. Still quite surprised with the performance my 6870 delivers though.
 
That photo of the 970 is great! Have they come down in price since the RAM fiasco?

I read yesterday that a major e-tailer in America along with a major online shop in the UK have started to give 20% refunds to people who bought one.

That's for people who still want to keep the cards but are aggrieved by the situation... not for people returning their cards, if that's what you assumed?

So people who bought from this etailer... keeping the cards & getting 20% back in their pocket.
