Took this just before I wheeled it out the showroom last week. I don't usually buy new things. Especially expensive new things, only an IT apprentice so have saved up quite a while for this!

Just bought the Seasonic M12II 750w PSU to go with the rest of the machine I've built on a budget!

Whole build came to £280~. Was donated a 4TB Western Digital enterprise drive from work :D

It's going to an 8” Edge-HD on a Advanced VX mount. Nearly got a telescope last October but that fell through and this lot came on a good offer so plunge taken. :D

Vert nice sir, put mine on the back burner for now with buying the house last year, may be able to grab one in the Autumn after i pay for this marine tank which is turning out to be a money pit setting up:(

Correct, managed to get one of the first batch in the UK from Cotswold Outdoor.

I've had my eye on this would be interested on your 1st impressions.

May I ask if this is the Saphire version, as I thought that came with the hard strap and Saphire glass? - the pic looks like the soft strap?

Sapphire version comes with both straps. nice good solid watch, looks good on the wrist and not too bulky (about 50mm dia. 11mm deep). GPS fix is very good apart from switching it on for first time, took about 5mins.

I think Garmin had to bring this Fenix 3 out to compete with the Apple Watch. Notifications come through the watch great from an iPhone as do Calendar appointments I believe although still need to get this set-up.

Only down side is difficult to read the time in low light for me, not enough contrast between background and digits.

I'll give a more detail review once I've had chance to play with it.

Cheers, I can see this becoming a bit of a money pit with all the bits I want for it but what the hell!

Mr Fedex arrived this afternoon bearing two boxes, one of which nearly killed him and which I had to unpack in the hall. It had the tripod, mount, weight(s), and all the other bits to do with the mount.

Just unpacked the tripod which is quite substantial and left the other bits in their boxes:

The telescope tube came in the other large box:

and some reading which gives you an idea of how it looks:

Didn't want to go any larger as this is still portable if you have it in bits.

I was going to wait until summer but as I said a bargain came along and after a week of deliberation it got bought.

Won't have time to unpack and play for another week but seeing as I've waited for years to get one it doesn't matter.

There is a price to pay with various projects to be done around the house and garden but that's a small price to pay. :D
