Goof ups are always fun, and expensive :(

^Broke my phone, fell asleep like a fool and my Z3 slipped onto the floor cracking the corner of the screen and rendering the bottom half of the display inoperable.

2 weeks it will take to replace under gadget cover, so I went out and bought the Copper Z3 and will put the replacement on MM when it comes back. Not really an "upgrade" so to speak but it's different and looks nice in the flesh so that satisfies my phone upgrade urge for at least another year :p

^Secondly, as my Nilfisk C110.3 broke down in a small plume of smoke on Sunday, I ordered the C110.4. Was really happy with the old one, over 5 years of solid service and being left in the shed brazing the conditions we've had. I know people who bought more expensive Karchers and they've broken within a year, and they've been kept in warmer conditions!

^Lastly the MagMod flash modifier kit finally arrived. Ordered back in November on KickStarter. These negate the need to use umbrellas out in the field and allow for some creative lighting, something I been looking to do with minimal faff for a long time. As wedding season is fast approaching, this could not have come at a better moment.

I need to recertify, stupidly let it slip after having it for 9 yrs, I like Wendell's books, very good, good luck.

Doh

I'm planning on having a break once iv done ICND2 and got the CCNA. then plan to do a quick rewatch of CBT nuggets ICND2 videos next year and study CCNP to recertify back to 3 years I think

Iv been meaning to get certs done for years but unfortunately its always been too busy..or I revised, and they changed the bloody exams, so had to start again with revised matirial. That's what happened to me lol

Good luck with your recert :)

I have a Nilfisk too, had three Karchers before and they where crap, I've had this one 4 years now and it's still as good as new. Can't rate them enough to friends etc, and they are cheaper then Karcher which is a bonus

RX100 III

Blindly bought one without handling one, I knew it would be small but damn.. it's tiny sat next to a Z3C. A true pocketable take anywhere camera.

Very nice - how far off quality wise dou you think it is compared to a crop DSLR?

I think it's close, there are compromises (including the 24mm-70mm focal range being rather narrow) and the ergonomics are going to take some getting used to, menus, menus! But the image quality is pretty incredible for something of its size. AF speed is also a lot faster than I was thinking it would be.

I am still not sure whether I should have gone for the LX100, I may in fact still buy one to try it out. It's no where near as pocketable as an RX100 though, and ultimately, that's where the RX100 shines. This will fit anywhere, there is no excuse for not carrying it around, it just makes it extremely attractive. Lugging around the DSLR sometimes just is a pain in the backside, a long with the constant looking over your shoulders at times.

Have a look on the Flickr RX100 group and Flickr RX100 search. Many of the captures are stunning, some I find it hard to believe they came from a camera of this size.
