yes, it's the black one. I like it best by miles.

I'd love a proper machine but I am idle and my wife doesn't drink coffee so won't tidy it up.

Looks nice :)
Think once this one goes i'll go full automatic bean-to-cup. Too lazy to mess about with proper espresso machines :(

by the looks of it, going from bean to cup with this machine, it still is rather quick! although, it could be messier if you spilt anything. :p ive not seen any auto bean to cup machines

That looks like a very nice machine, I want something like this when i get a house :D

we all love drinking coffee, so we thought why not all chip in and get something half decent! :D i'll post some pics/ review when we get it. :)

my dad is in the same situation. although, i think its down to his love of gadgets rather than his love of coffee :D

yours still requires to put the coffee in the thingy (don't know the technical term) :p

Hopper.

I'm not a fan of bean to cup or pod machines. I'd much have a proper dedicated digital burr grinder and a Gaggia Classic with a proper wand, maybe a better basket too. It'll produce so much better coffee than a bean to cup with minimal difference in hassle.

Whatever you do get, learn to use it properly, if you're not sure, speak to a local independent coffee shop and they'll give you pointers (one that uses proper machines and likes coffee...some would call it hipster).

Above all though, use good beans. Square Mile, James Gourmet Coffee, Round Hill, Clifton Coffee Co...and many others will supply you with 250g+ bags which are ideal to try and to dial in a machine. You'll need to re do the dialing in for each bean supply as they'll give different results.

i used to have one as my first coffee machine when i moved out. not a gaggia. think it was a philipps saeco (i lurk in the espresso thread everynow and then ;) ) I changed it due to the hassle and the noise it made, as i could not have a sneaky espresso before work without waking up the other half.

maybe one day i go for a gaggia but in the current place i don't have the room and i also seem to be too clumsy and spill it everywhere :(

Any espresso machine will make lots of noise, especially if it's a bean to cup so I think you're mostly stuck there. As for the mess...sounds like you need someone to make you coffee so you can wake up before making coffee. :p

:D

i know they all make a racket, but i've converted the other half to drink coffee so she might understand one day that we need to upgrade from the nespresso machine ;)

I have had the Gaggia classic before. Nice little machine and upgraded a few bits including the tamper as the one supplied should go straight in the bin.

The problem is, unless you drink espresso most people (nearly all) will never taste the difference between the gagia and the sage machine/bean to cup machines. Also the faff of making coffee in such a way put me off :(

Hasbeen.co.uk is a good place for coffee.

New speakers an A/V Receiver for my living room TV.

HMcNmH5l.jpg

Dali Zensor 7 5.1 speaker package (2 x Zensor 7 fronts, 2 x Zensor 1 rears, 1 x Zensor Vokal centre, and 1 x E12-F sub). Still playing around with where to put the sub in the room!

Yamaha RXV-677 A/V Receiver to go with them.

I had to take the doors off the front of the TV unit but looks fine, worth it anyway to prevent opening them being required.

I am rather jealous here - not for what you have brought but fact you can hear it clearly - I used to have HiFi but now it sounds like speakers are covered with blanket - Put my hearing aids in and sounds like Binatone tranny radio.

Enjoy it as long as you can. - Nice bit of kit

Dave

That sucks :(

Will listen for the both of us! :)
