why doesnt someone make a petrol powered flymo? its so easy going to cut my grandads lawn, the hovering means i dont have to walk up and down and it still looks neat and tidy.

Its a lot harder to make a hover mower with a petrol engine bolted on top of it!

To be fair, the petrol mower pictured isnt proper either :) You dont get the stripes like you do with mowers with a roller on it

Many years a go there was a Flymo with a petrol engine, my old man used to have one... worked great!

Er, you can get them quite easily. Just google "Petrol Flymo" and there are tons of them.... Councils have been using them for years to do steep embankments.... Tie a bit of rope to it and swing it in a big scything motion on steep embankments, although this may now have ended due to H&S

honestly wont scratch the car if used correctly.

the only stories you see of scratching are those that fit it to a dirty car or leave them on constantly.

I do a lot of long haul runs (up to 1000 miles a time) so once its painted bra will be on and off as required

Surely you'd want one on your lower bumper bits and wings as opposed to the bonnet, since those areas are what stone chips mostly affect. Stone chip victim here speaking from experience!

The number of stone chips and debris I've acquired on my bonnet alone from 50k miles driving, are no where near great enough to warrant having that monstrosity strapped to my bonnet. I have about 5 chips.

That can not be the real reason to fit one, surely.

Are they strapped down pretty secure to stop cack getting underneath them?
