I hate to burn your sausage but it is of surprisingly robust construction! I'll be using it with the hot Mrs Edrof's frilliest apron.

Is the bullet essentially just a side handle? or does it serve a function?

Pretty darn good

Although imagine the spook you give if someone came in to your kitchen, drop everything and stuck their hands up

"It's ok, im just cooking" :p

Just chat on teamspeak/mumble lol!, i've ordered the PSA1 boom arm also that i will clamp to the back of the desk.

I've been good with my spending lately so let's just call it an itch that needed to be scratched, makes me sound pro also!. :)

I've got a few other mics including a modmic but they all at some point get some kind of squealing interference noise and i have to disconnect mic or restart pc.

Whoops just saw this. :D

Yeah, condensers do have the ability to do that. I wonder how it handles without an apparently shockmount, though? The one I have came with the Rode SMR as standard - a bit bulky but it's supposed to help. :D

The bullet is just something I placed there for a better camera angle. I'm not sure if you can buy this over here as it came from a gun store in Vegas.

Found an eBay link.

Some vinyl goodness:

some microfibre cleaning cloths (144 of them to be precise)

and some Velcro strips

these are fantastic for a multitude of things especially mounting SSDs in a case behind the motherboard tray

and a bit of a speed boost for my old 2600k

The only problem with that link is that the shipping cost is more than twice the cost of the item itself!

Found a hunting rifle style one too, Linky.

That shipping is killer, my dads birthday soon he loves a BBQ. Even has little bullet grating on the spatula part. Top purchase that.

I'll be interested to hear about performance differences. Are you thinking of upgrading the CPU?

Even with the Celeron it was a lot quicker even just doing general Windows stuff. For what I'm doing with it it's a good upgrade over the N54L for sure. I run Windows on it and do my downloading and a few other tasks on there but even tasks like decompressing archives are a hell of a lot quicker.

I had a spare i3 2120 laying around which I thought I'd try out. The Celeron is a G1610T which is a 35w TDP part and the i3 2120 is a 65w TDP part so I wasn't too sure how it'd go. I may or may not revert back to the Celeron but even with the CPU under load for a while I haven't seen it break 60 degrees C and I haven't heard the fan speed up excessively either - so far so good.

The only disadvantage is that non-ECC RAM just doesn't work in it, nor does ECC Registered which is annoying as I have lots of both spare. Have ordered another 8GB of unbuffered ECC which hopefully should be here very soon.

All in all it's a good bit of kit and since it's on cashback at the moment, well worth the money. I had a few issues getting it all up and running (such as being unable to select boot drive when in AHCI mode which meant the internal SSD wouldn't boot) but I've got it all sorted now :)
