How much for the MP3 player? Also, any good?

Currently using an old Android phone in my car which is working, but would prefer a dedicated MP3 player with proper playlists etc.

£25 from the rainforest. Battery life is excellent on it and easy to use once you work out the controls. The Sandisk Clip + is going for the same price if you search online.

Looks nice, I use a cheap Android phone too but the benefit there is I can use Spotify offline playlists.

Lucky sausage! Was that somewhere in the UK? It's even heavier with the massive sword bayonet on the end.

It was yeah, I work for the MoD and they invited staff to come out to the 50m range and test fire 10 rounds on the 1944 and a 1914 SMLE (think it was that).

They also had some deactivated stuff like machine guns etc. Was a brilliant day

Just got this from Ernest Jones for my Girlfriends Birthday :) Not really a fan of Micheal Kors but this new edition looks really nice for £230

I like that. It wouldn't be a daily wear for me, but as an option to wear for certain occasions, it's a good choice.

For the record, I'm not a fan of MK stuff at all - I'm purely going on appearances rather than name.

How superb! I am very jealous. I suspect the '1944' was a Lee Enfield Number 4? Very similar to the SMLE but no nose cap and the rear sight isn't half way up the stock.

My school had Enfields and a Bren gun. We got to play with them often either blanks or live rounds.

When your 14 and firing a Bren gun its awesome! :D

That was it, it didn't have the nose cap protruding from the end of the barrel. The soldiers got to play around with the sten gun and the more interesting weapons.

TBH I wouldn't trust us civys with that stuff anyway.

Woah! It's mini!

How much? Are the speeds much different to a SATA drive?

£60 from overclockers.
Ran a quick speed test & got an average of 430mb/s read speed. Compare to my current Crucial M500 240gb SSD which gives 277mb/s

Planning on putting Windows 10 on there & a few utilities which I use on a regular basis.

Awesome little thing!

Presumably this was in the days before risk assessments...

Not sure. School always had big links to the Army and Airforce and even 6th form scholarships paid by them. All pupils had to do two years compulsory CCF in the 4th and 5th years.

We had our own assault course and firing range and armoury on the school grounds along with acres or woodland and grassland and the fun bits of ccf was firing real guns and the full scale excerises (with blanks). Was pretty cool as you could pick modules like REME etc and you did actually learn a lot of stuff.

This was all back in the 80s. Shame if its not allowed today. :(

Just googled it. Doesnt say what arms they still have though but they still do live round practice.

We have our own purpose designed CCF centre on the school campus.

In the Fourth Year
Membership of the CCF is compulsory but pupils can opt for either Army or RAF sections. The following core activities are common to both sections:
Drill
Infantry training
Inter-platoon competitions
Navigation
Personal survival
Skill at Arms
Adventurous training

In addition to the above RAF cadets have the opportunity to participate in:
RAF Station visits
Air experience flying at RAF Church Fenton
Gliding at RAF Linton on Ouse

In the Fifth Year
Pupils can choose whether to remain in the CCF. The Fifth Year CCF programme builds on the basic proficiency training through a flexible programme of advanced proficiency activities including:
Signals training
Advanced infantry training
Canoeing/wind-surfing/sailing at Allerthorpe Lakeland Park
Range firing at Strensall and indoor range target shooting.
Personal survival
Climbing
First Aid

EDIT: actually reading that the firing range must have gone at the school as was on the grounds when I was there and its listed as offsite now :(

Ours did, we had 2 BRENs and would take one every time we went to the range up in the dales (lived in yorkshire at the time). They had loads of No 4's and some 22 for the school range (which is still there on google maps).
