...WS8212B individually addressable RGB LEDs. Somehow they manage to squeeze all the control electronics for each LED into the small 10mm vaguely circular PCB.

With these wired up to a microcontroller and with a bit of code I can produce an infinite combination of lighting effects. I've got 50 (price break was good for 50 vs 10), a few of which are possibly for use with a christmas jumper.

The idea came from the recent NZXT Hue+ controller, although I have fancied fiddling with these for a while.

A mini spending spree this week

  • A white PS4 and Lego Jurassic World game for my son
  • A gold iPad Air 2 64GB for my partner
  • A gold iPad Air 2 128GB for me
  • A Western Digital 3TB Network Storage for me
:)

It would be interesting to use those to make a matrix, although lots of soldering required!

A few acquisitions recently.

A double pack of PE for a soonish spitfire build, was only £16 free p&p from hannants.

I took advantage of AK's black friday discount and ordered some weathering sets, xtreme metal and some other bits. Didn't check my basket though and ended up with 2 of each the sets I ordered, will keep me going for a while though.

Why would you only bring 1l back?
You can't take that on as hand luggage as it'll never get past security. Stick it in your checked bags and no one will know how much you've got in there..?
