Took a chance on an ebay item from Hong Kong. These are about £20 in the UK and the wife keeps breaking them, but loves to use them.
£3.56 and free delivery - arrived within 10 days!

I think ol' Caveman Bob up there is referring to the remote ;)

I know... but with the timing on that one... I just HAD to :D

He can scroll up and read, the person who posted it said what it was, the person who quoted him said what it was, the person who quoted him quoted what it was and when I quoted, I also quoted what it was... lol :D

Andi.

The glass-insert ribs, i'm guessing.

Very weak point in the construction, we had something similar and it did the same.

Why not get a glass one with a metal tea holder? They're easy to find and will last a long time with much lower risk of getting shards of glass in your tea.

If you can point me to a 250ml (one cup) glass pot with Stainless infuser I'd be very grateful :-)

Mega impressed with this.

My missus needs a cheap laptop / tablet for light browsing and office work. I had been trying to find a cheapish surface but this seems perfect. The price is amazing and the reviews glowing but can I ask how sturdy is it when it's docked with the keyboard? I notice it doesn't have a kickstand like the surface - she typically likes to lie in bed to work on reports so I'm interested to know if it's relatively stable when used on your lap or if I'd also need to get a case.

New 'fake' Oakleys for cycling!

Lost my other pair back a few months ago by hanging them off my bike handlebars, and have since ordered 2 other pairs which were rubbish and found these on good ol' AliX again.

Better quality than the DHB range which were £10-15 more expensive, and the lenses are great especially as I need a few for the winter. :D

Did you buy it in the amazon flash sale a few days ago for £79 ?

I want to upgrade my Harmony Ultimate to the new Logitech Harmony Elite remote but they cost around £280 at the moment

I did yes. A bit of an impulse buy, but I have looked at the Ultimate in the past with interest. Glad I bought it now though. My Sky and TV remotes always seemed quite fussy about having the remote aimed near enough directly at the receiver also, which was a little bit of a pain. Plus I often use my TV for music around the house so quite nice to have the remove in another room and channel surf and control the volume :D

I did try and keep everything down to 1 remote via HDMI-CEC, but it just wasn't happening, always needed another remote for something as one remote wouldn't cover all the functions all the time.

The keyboard is very heavy and has a stiff hinge, so it's just like a laptop/netbook once docked in the keyboard. The keyboard is nice to use also, I can type away on it nicely like I am doing now :D I have it sat in front of me on a desk and it would never tip over backwards even when tilted right back. Amazing bit of kit for the money. Battery life is very impressive too, easily get 6 hours out of it.

You shouldn't have had to switch between any remotes on the harmony unless you were using it in device mode which isn't really how its meant to be used.

I've been using them for the last 8-9 years and wouldn't go back to having multiple remotes again.

Ok so let's say on a typical evening my wife & daughters have the TV on and they need to switch channels so that's straight forward on the Harmony.
A bit later they want something on the TIVO they recorded so how do they turn that on and start playing stuff?
A bit later they may need to watch something that is on my VU+ Solo2 satellite receiver so that needs turning on and navigating around so how do they do that without switching on the Harmony?
Then around 11pm when I usually go to bed in the week one daughter will turn the Amazon Fire on and navigate around that.
So taking all the key presses they may have to make in an evening how can they do that on a none scrolling screen or are the buttons about 1mm square?
