This just arrived at the folks today was told wouldn't be till next year, little excited. :D
The torture of waiting till 5pm to go home and opening the box! :D

It was second hand from a university for £300! Ebay is a good for second hand Olympus microscopes. Don't waste money on the Chinese crap

Any tips gratefully received! There is little to no info on the web with regard to amateur microscopy. I am mainly looking at studying microbes pond stuff etc...

The Olympus with it's infinity plan objectives is certainly a step up from my old Tasco microscope from the 80's!

All the objectives should have the same focal point (i.e. if it's in focus at 10x, it should be at 400x), it's much easier therefore to start at the lowest objective and work your way up.

If you're struggling to see protozoa etc. without stains try dropping your substage condenser to it's minimum level, this should highlight them a bit better. Always use as low a light setting as you can get away with, and keep the iris just outside your FOV. HTH :)

Yep my last email response from Canyon was them admitting they had no idea when it would be dispatched, I was on the understanding it would be next year.

The order system is in a right state so they can't give you concrete details.
 
My mate just got his enduro delivered to the wrong address (his Paypal billing address in the UK) when he lives in Basel. They cancelled the order, refunded him, and dispatched one to his Basel address...? He was like errr? OK.

So, more importantly, what did you get??

Canyon Spectral 6.0 in Green (well hope so when I open it later)
