Lol it was £125 (less the £75 of vouchers I had) so I paid £50 for it

After a lot of reading up the Ecofans do get constantly good reviews and are definately good quality and after tonight's trial also do a cracking job.

Some of the cheaper models / makes get good reviews but in overall terms of operating temperature range, airflow and max temperature I decided it was worth a try

The difference in the room was instantly noticeable as it circulates the hot air which usually congregates in the alcove above the log burner and helps with general air / heat circulation in the room

There are claims of reducing fuel usage as well but I'm somewhat sceptical of that

Warmer room quicker means less logs on the stove or you close the vents up more both of which means less logs used. Seems logical to me :)

new nikes for this winter

Why do people spend such an amount of money and time ******* about with wood burners? I usually just think each to their own, but it's just like going back to sending telegrams rather than an email.

They are ace esp if you have a free source of wood like me. Saves us a fortune on central heating.

Plus you've never had toast until you have had toast done on a fire. Plus toasted marshmallows.

Then there is the jiggity time with the missus on the rug in front of it.

Woodburner every time over gas, maybe your just boring and don't like the good things in life.

I get the theory behind using less fuel but in reality I'm yet to be convinced - keep chucking logs of for a roaring fire getting hotter quicker :D

As for log burners generally - what's not to like ? You get to play with a big axe splitting logs and best of all you get to play with fire, a lot, in the house !

Boring enough to miss out on the chopping/storing of wood, the need to keep adding fuel, the cleaning of the burner etc etc...

Having grown up with log fires, I dont miss the hassle of them one bit....
