I am now officially a home owner!

Bought this (2 bedroom flat) down in Walthamstow London, with my girlfriend of 7 years, both first time buyers so a very exciting time :)

We're both only 27 so very lucky to get on the property ladder this early on.

Looks nice. Please tell me you'll be removing those door closer thingys though - they are pure evil!!!

Congratulations!

Next buy some slippers for that lovely looking cold floor! :p

Underfloor heating with digital thermostats in each room thank you very much :p

It's sad sign of the times that this is the case. Good luck with the new home!

That's what I thought when I read that. Either way looks nice Dunks, enjoy.

I guess it's all about location though, I work in Derby through the week and I'd be looking at ~£180k or so (less than half what we paid) at most for something similar which is a bit more doable :)

Enjoy your posh Spar. :)

Eat17? Had to Google that!

Someone pointed out the ugly door closing mechanism. You said it's compulsory. I pointed out the ugly type isn't compulsory, you can get concealed ones.

Are you this pedantic?

Self-closing doors are compulsory. Are you debating whether Clum is on about whether?

1 - the idea that self closing doors are evil
2 - the actual physical part of it is evil?

I can't see how a piece of metal box is evil, it is like saying a screw driver is evil, or a sauce pan is evil It is not like you hit it with your head as it is way high up, or that it will jump off the door and attack you. It's effect however closes the door and that is the act and effect which I "presume" is what Clum mean by "pure evil". And that act cannot be mitigated by change of mechanism.

Unless "pure evil" = ugly looking?!

Clearly he was referring to its looks. You'd have to be special to not like doors which close themselves but look aesthetically the same as normal doors. Just take the ownage, rather than embarrassing yourself.

Clearly? How did you make that leap and conclusion? Base on what?

Pure evil = Ugly?

Okay...I've always suspected you were quite evil before this...guess now there are 2 meanings to the phrase ! :D
