I keep looking at these things in shops and online.
But I can never think of anywhere where I would ever really need to use one...

Depends what phone you have and how often you use it and how power hungry is your apps, lots of variables. Get one if you find yourself constantly having a low battery alert.

I have one that I keep in my bag, it's a 10k mA one and lasts about a week.

They are useful too if you are on holiday or traveling as google maps and searching what to do and where you are really kills the battery. It was useful in Sweden last December when the low temperature means the phone dies much earlier. It literally went from 55% to 10% alert then dies in the space of 5 seconds.

Long family days out it will certainly come in handy and also when all in the car for long journeys to parents / outlaws with several devices on the go.

Ive also eaten through a full battery recently when out on my bike or long walk with Strava / few apps, reading emails and texting

For the price im sure it will come in handy

How much did that cost you

Would it work as soundproofing if you covered all the walls? (I know thats not your purpose but something I'm thinking about.)

Not it's not sound proofing as sound can pass through it...
The wood was 17.99 pack of 10 and the panels a fiver each.

I've used 50 percent of the wood to make one so the frame in essence was 8.50

I'm making another one tomo..it can be used as a vocal booth or drum kit baffle etc...

bit of a mixed bag, need a new potato camera though
