It allows you to create different profiles for your monitor and switch to them quickly. I imagine some people like to have different brightness/contrast settings for different games. Not something I've ever bothered with myself so may just put my coffee there instead.
A lot of the guys on desk and room gallery use the style, i think it's a great way to make your desk, very pleased.
