Import duty?

I bought a RC car part from America fully expecting to pay import duty as it cost $89, and I was waiting for the royal mail to shove a card through my door saying I had to pick it up from the depot and pay the duty.

Anyway it was delivered today with a big sticker saying I had to pay £13 but they just delivered the parcel without me handing over any cash.

Have I got away without paying the £13 or do they send bills out

Probably send you a bill unless theres a phone number on the back of the card, which in that case you need to ring them and pay for the import charges.

Ive just had a good look at the sticker and it says "this package connot be delivered until the charges are paid" there is a telephone number but Im thinking ill keep quite and save £13 :eek:

Hmmm very strange as i usually have to go to my post office depot, pay the charges then get my items when i order from America....looks like you might have got lucky dude...
