str, you can either take my word on this or you can ask them yourself. I spent weeks sorting this out about a year ago and I've told you the clarification I got directly from Microsoft.

Because that's what I was told by the System Builder Licensing team when I asked them this very question.

Looks to me like they fobbed you off about it.

It wouldn't be the first time either as they also attempt to redefine the term upgraded PC to a new PC so they can invoke their transfer restriction and they also talk about the upgrade motherboard restriction yet there is no such restriction.

Microsoft say what they want us to believe regardless of the legals in their licenses.

They would likely tell me exactly the same as they told you in otherwords attempt to fob me of about it.

I will contact Microsoft about it at some point but I'd like to find out as much as I can before I do so hence discussions like this.

Think what you like, but I've had in depth advice on this, it's hardly being 'fobbed off'.

Let me just make the point that I've been doing this for a few years now, have talked to MS and other licensing specialists about this and other licensing programmes. You're still getting to grips with all of this, why do you have to question absolutely everything? I admit that I'm unsure to whether all of the restrictions are categorically enforceable in a court, but tbh, that's a little irrelevant for my work and for the advice I give here.

Edit: I'm not going to post in this thread anymore, it just goes on and on. If you have an specific questions you want me to answer, email me.
