The moderating team have made a joint decision on implementing a more robust approach to eradicate nuisance, trolling, baiting or other off topic posts within the GC section.

This will be in the form of a 'Three Strike System'. A strike will consist of a post that needs to be deleted for any of the already mentioned reasons. Each strike will also be accompanied with a suspension ie.

Strike 1 = 7 day sus,
Strike 2 = 14 day sus,
Strike 3 = 21 day sus and access removed.

Upon reaching a third strike, access to the GC section will be permanently removed regardless of the time period between strikes.

Excellent. That will put a few people in line and keep threads on topic. Bit of banter is fine, even encouraged, but some people here take the biscuit. lol

Excellent. :)

I fear that this time next week, this section of the forum will be empty. :p

I'll wear out that report button, be prepared, I'll be reporting everything and I mean everything that comes under those categories.

People get passionate sometimes and can take it too far. That doesn't mean that after a few passion induced posts should see them permanently removed from the GPU section. I understand the thoughts behind the new ruling for those who constantly annoy people here but these rules seems like you're going to be shooting yourselves in the foot. Would the people that constantly buy and use these threads continue to shop at OCUK if locked out of discussion?.

I had a post removed for merely having a friendly joke with someone that took offense to it. Nothing ill intended at all and that would be me removed for 7 days with 2 strikes left?. Forum prison :D.

How are you going to report posts after your access is removed :D

If my bets were on the first to hit the 3 strikes it would be yourself with the self admitted baiting and trolling.

This is well past due. The GC forum is utterly toxic, and has been for a while now.

^^ This.

This has been a long time coming, I just hope the usual suspects for baiting etc aren't allowed to continue doing so while others get targeted for strikes and ban lol.

Be interesting to see how this plays out.

People should grow up, its a bit of metal and plastic, not life or death.

That wasn't my point. My point is people that are usually well mannered can have an off moment now and then due to this passion regardless of what you or I think. I understand there needs to be a change but I'd not want for decent people that have a few mishaps permanently removed. I'm not talking prolific re-offenders here.

Indeed, let's hope rules are applied consistently and fairly. If no favoritism is applied this will be a good move. However when all's said and done it's just a forum and I'm sure some posters could do with seeing a bit more of the sun :p
