• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Important NEW rule change for GC section (3 Strike Rule).

It's extremely easy. There is no excuse.

In regards to that, in my suspensions in the past which were retracted through my error or the error in staff judgement. Half of those emails don't work or the admin/moderator never responds..

Has the list of emails ever been rechecked to make sure they are still in use?

You seem worried Neil? I have never had you down as troll. :p

Worried not at all, I don't spend a lot of time in this group bar the correct thread that is related to my graphics card.

A good move :)

Well, assuming the mods follow through (this is the second time this has been implemented now).

After many RTM's concerning various threads in the GC subforum the moderators have decided on a zero tolerance approach.

Any more off topic rubbish, trolling, thread derailment will be meet with a suspension with no more warnings given.

If suspension doesn't work and it continues then access to this sub forum will be removed for the members causing problems.

If you think you are being singled out, picked on or anything else that could be considered "trolling" then just RTM it. Do not bite back, stay on the topic of the thread you are posting in.

They have and my team are often contacted and we discuss emails received. We receive dozens of emails a day. You need to remember that people may not be able to access their emails quickly or straight away if they are at work.

Ok, so were told to report posts, and now were told if you report too many then you will be suspended ? lawl

Nobody said that - however, pointless repetitive reporting of posts that are not deemed to break the discussion will not be actioned. If you are unhappy with a decisions made by the moderating team you are welcome to send a polite email explaining your point to one of my team or indeed myself.

May I also suggest that before feeling the need to reply to every post, take a step back, and either ignore it, or think, think very carefully about how you want to contribute to the discussion.

I'm not singling you out, I'm merely replying to your post as undoubtedly others have the same fear.

This will hopefully make people less sensitive to content being posted.

Banter / baiting?

This is something everyone will need to think about before clicking the submit button.

His posts aren't banter.

He's a self admitted troll, I'll find the post where he said it if it hasn't been deleted.

You told me you were betting I'm first to go and commented on me baiting and trolling.

Now have a wee think, how do you think that came across ?

Then in future think twice before admitting you do something on purpose.

no I'm suggesting it is likely that if you blatantly spam report everytime someone argues with you you'll be treated as the troll you are being.

haha cant we have less rules and just make fun of ppl who take it too serious!!??
seems like a better system :)

more rules = ppl act more serious?
anyway i know its not a democracy just my feelings on it ><

Does anyone else find it comical that this "new three strikes" announcement is like two posts down from the stickied "new zero tolerance" announcement from last year? :P

I feel that the 3, 7, 14 day rule described above would be a better way to introduce the system. This makes it less punitive while the mods and posters are getting things underway.

The timing of this is pure genius ! Coincide with Titan X launch. Some users here will find it excruciating having to be careful what they post, especially if they think it's overpriced.. Hehe.

This change is very welcome.

You put AMD and nVidia together and it will end in tears. The simplest way was to do an AMD section and an Nvidia section and a general section.... Problem solved and the mods would have a far easier time.

Why this has never been done just amazes me.
