Improving this pic?

Hey guys,

I'm really rubbish at post processing, I look at a photo and somehow feel content with it. Yet someone will touch it up and suddendly it's loads better.

What would you guys do with this pic?

How do you guys know what to do, I really need some tutorials in bringing out colour and the like.

Levels, contrast and saturation. Play with them and see what you think of more/less of each.
What software do you have?

Here's my effort using a cack tft - probably a little bright on the background but a little playing should help.

As Helium says - levels, contrast saturation. I also cropped it slightly tighter too.

the lion is pretty good, but maybe oversharpened a little and/or a little bit too much contrast. other than that it's fine. nice colours.
