Having implemented a home server i have reshuffled my hdd allocation and am having a rethink about where to go

Currently..
Server
2x3TB WD green drives have been moved into the server - backups and all media
USB 3TB WD external drive drive is also attached - backup of backups

HTPC (note: gaming HTPC)
64GB Crucial M4
2tb samsung f4eg
the 3tb drives were all inside this pc before

Main rig
64GB crucial m4
300GB WD VR

what i was considering altering is the desktop setups

no data will be classed as valuable as it will be backed up to the server

mostly these drives will contain a few documents and predominantly steam games

Is RAID-0 worth it just for games, i do recall things being better on the raid array i had when using 2xWD300GBs, but that was before SSDs and also contained music etc. Again i am not conerned with the 'risks' of raid-0 one iota

for the htpc i dont really have the room for raid-0 even tho it will be used probably more than the main rig purely as im having heat issues. so a single drive solution would be ideal. is it worth changing the f4EG?

raid 0 is the best you can do for games but tbh with sdd a fast set up anyway i've not seen or needed myself, if anything if it was any quicker all i'd do is fall of cliffs more ofter in farcry3 and die more often and quicker in total war :)

i just run 2 adata 256gb sdd on 2 6gb ports with a 3tb drive as storage, usb so not attached most of the time, install a game off it then remove it.

if in a few months or next year i see a slow down or find it a bottle neck i'd raid them then, but for now it's not needed, for photoshop etc 1gb files fly so don't need or use anything else to push my drives.

i7 overclocked to 4.4 and 16gb DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel ram

My ssd really hasn't got the room to hold any games.
One thing I was thinking of was getting a raid0 setup on the main rig as it has bags of space
Then pputting the VR drive in the Htpc. Tho I worry it won't be large enough in single drive configuration
