In CoD2 can you pick up an enemy grenade and chuck it back at them?

The amount of times this has been said recently is crazy.

However looking at the PC 2007 lineup just reminds you it isnt dieing.

i've only ever played cod1 & got cod 3 on the 360.

Must say i prefered cod3, but the 360 version isn't a massive leap, it looks pretty, but thats about it, same gameplay as the pc version in single player "run around with squaddies"

its not bad by any stretch of the imagination, just saying i dont think its that big of a loss that its on the 360 and not on pc.

& yes, pc has some killer titles upcomming :D

No way! Let's see, what has happened in the console world over the past few years? Erm...PS3 Cell chip...360...erm...i'm all out of ideas.

Now, what's happened in the PC world over the last few years? "Superpowered" GPU's. Physics processors. Dual core and Quad core. Heatpiping went mainstream. 64-bit. DDR2. 32 core chip (Made by Sun). OVerclocking became possible on home rigs. 10000RPM drives. LCD screens went mainstream. RAID went mainstream. SATA drives. X-Fi.

What's on the horizon for consoles? Erm...Games. Oooh, new controllers!

What's on the horizon for PC? Oct-core CPU's (8 cores), new physics processors. UT2007. Crysis. DDR3. GDDR5 (even though GDDR4 was only introduced in the X19's). RD600. NForce 5 (it's been a few months since i've heard anything).

Yes, the PC generation is really dying out.

Though I agree the PC games market is not dying, just listing lots and lots of hardware isn't exactly valid points, as you can have the best hardware in the world, but without the games, the hardware is useless (presuming the PC is mainly a gaming PC).

I think its safe to say that just about every pc gfx card ever released has never been pushed to its full potential. Also, enthusiasts will buy the fastest latest hardware regardless of what games are out, thats why they chuck out gfx cards etc every 6 months.

Overclocking did not "become possible" on home rigs in the "last few years". I've been doing it for a decade

I think what he's getting at is that overclocking is no longer the domain of the elite/enthusiast who buy special hardware or do a lot of research. You don't need to mess about with jumpers any more, heck people can even easily overclock without the BIOS what with all the bundled software etc.

As for no gfx cards ever being pushed to their full potential, I definitely can't agree with that. Even 8800GTX SLI is too slow for the likes of Oblivion when maxed out on a decent monitor, never mind older cards.

Erm if oblivion was coded properly then SLI 8800GTXs would eat it for breakfast!!! Its not that amazing gfx wise!!

Exactly. When it comes to pc gaming there are so many limiting factors and bottlenecks. Supposedly Vista and DX10 are going to address a lot of issues so we shall see. Oblivion doesnt even scratch the surface of what a 8800gtx is potentially capable of.
