Though I agree the PC games market is not dying, just listing lots and lots of hardware isn't exactly valid points, as you can have the best hardware in the world, but without the games, the hardware is useless (presuming the PC is mainly a gaming PC).DJKahuna said:No way! Let's see, what has happened in the console world over the past few years? Erm...PS3 Cell chip...360...erm...i'm all out of ideas.
Now, what's happened in the PC world over the last few years? "Superpowered" GPU's. Physics processors. Dual core and Quad core. Heatpiping went mainstream. 64-bit. DDR2. 32 core chip (Made by Sun). OVerclocking became possible on home rigs. 10000RPM drives. LCD screens went mainstream. RAID went mainstream. SATA drives. X-Fi.
What's on the horizon for consoles? Erm...Games. Oooh, new controllers!
What's on the horizon for PC? Oct-core CPU's (8 cores), new physics processors. UT2007. Crysis. DDR3. GDDR5 (even though GDDR4 was only introduced in the X19's). RD600. NForce 5 (it's been a few months since i've heard anything).
Yes, the PC generation is really dying out.
