IN STOCK NOW POWERCOLOR & SAPPHIRE 5850 & 5870

Ok, cheers Fatboy.

@sammie377: Morals are just opinions at the end of the day, I don't think it's immoral for companies to charge more for having stock of an item that's in high demand. Do I like it? No. Simple answer is to not pay more than what you think it's worth, plenty of people thought it was worth £250 and so it sold at £250, if everyone agreed with you then the prices wouldn't even hit that high ;) As for me, it'd have to be £200 or less as after everything for my PC sans graphics, I'm left with ~£200.

Any company that's decent in "my opinion" would stop this, EK Waterblocks for instance forbid their outlets to charge more than 10% above the retail price and also not to charge less either, very fair business and run in a correct manner everyone gets paid a resonable days pay for a reasonable days work.

Oooo man, ordered a Sapphire 5850 today thinking they still do, already been shipped, should have switched to the Powercolour Dirt 2 edition :(

I'm pretty sure I read that the Sapphire club offers Dirt 2 for free, not sure if that's until the new year though (as I heard offers expire at the end of each month), but you may still get Dirt 2 after all :)

if people are willing to pay then it makes sense if your in business to sell at a high price, OCUK might be a friendly community but in the end they are a shop...the forum is just an extension of that, i buy 90% of my components from OCUK they are not the cheapest but with free delivery and good service why would i shop to get £5 off somewhere else.
As for the cards do i want one, of course, but am i willing to pay for something that will give me know real benefit over my 4890 1Gb nope...

Where this whole supply and demand argument breaks down is forgetting that people have long memories and in future may take their trade elsewhere because of artificial price hiking.

I think the reality though is there is no loyalty, people will buy the item they want at the cheapest price they can find it +- a few percent.

hehe....just got lucky..picked up a 5870 Vapor-x delivered for £315! I`ve been waiting a while though....put my email in with lots of companies for when they got stock & finally got an email saying "it`s here"....knowing my luck they`ll be £299 everywhere by Monday:D...I had the last one...the shop begins with L & "baby sheep" is a clue;)

They actually come with Dirt 2 mate. I ordered and got mine last week, they both have the Dirt vouchers inside the box ;)

They actually still have one more up for grabs, unless they haven't updated their website :)

Just had a "item dispatched" email:D - I`ll be the one who gets the faulty card:p Already had a bad Powercolor 5870 & Sapphire 5970 (neither bought from here) - the Vapor-x was really the card I wanted though but has been very hard to get(no way was I paying £400+). I guess everywhere will be getting them in stock soon, glad I beat the VAT increase as well. Still reckon it`s only a £300 card though really!Hope everyone gets theirs soon & happy New Year!:D

Just to be different - I would pay a fair percentage over the average to get good customer service on my purchases. However these graphics card increases don't improve customer service so I won't be buying a new card until the prices return to something more realistic. If it takes too long here then I will have to shop elsewhere.

We are getting stock just not enough free stock. I will know tomorrow what our allocation is this week and apparently 59** is going to be in good supply will keep you all posted. All I can say is go for Sapphire, XFX or powercolor as they are the AIB's we are getting the most support on.

@Fatboy - Happy New Year matey! Grateful for any update on your 5970 deliveries, cheers.

Absolutely. One company may have better customer service than another but I don't really know till I try. To be honest, for goods like these I expect the interaction with the retailer to be minimal. I don't really understand why anyone should get brownie points for selling me the goods I want at a reasonable price, as described, P&P them safely and promptly and take them back if faulty. That's a minimum surely?

OC have this website, that's a USP. Fatboy also put in a lot of effort and overtime trying to resolve the 5800s availability issues.
