Inception - July 16th

Ah, the company I work for covers pretty much everything and they're based in Soho too, what do you do at the moment?
I used to work for one of the biggest facilities in Soho, was trying for ages to get into the vt/mcr room but it was just a crap place to try and move up. I'm now at a small place (7 people!) and basically assist the two editors.. doing everything from digitising, encoding, designing/making dvds, dubbing etc.. I'm basically the technical go-to guy for everything in the office, and also an edit assistant. It's soooooooo much better than a big facility!

MPC?

Those kinds of small places you work for now are good to work for, it's a shame they don't do telecine though otherwise I'm sure they'd have you helping with that as well.

Nope, not MPC but a fairly well-known Indian-owned facility that was desperately trying to get amongst the big boys. Horrible company!

You're right, it's a shame the telecine equipment is so expensive that only the big facilities have them. At my place though i may be helping to grade a small corporate drama we're doing which will be ace. Only on the Avid but still. They're aint nothing wrong with moving into onlining/finishing for broadcast, i hear it can pay as well as telecine/grading heh :p

I didn't really get the premise of the movie. Do they operate in dreams? Can they control things with their minds? I must have missed something.

^No idea, but this is my most anticipated movie of the 2010 now.

edit: comment from youtube "A company finds a way to delve into peoples minds and steal their dreams and apply it to modern society. Thats about all the info given out right now. "

Official synopsis (SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!)

Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in an original sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the intimate and infinite world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming. This summer, your mind is the scene of the crime.
