What a shame, such a beautiful airplane and so advanced. I hope it is nothing that will ground them again.

It seems to be nothing to do with the composite airframe or the super efficient engines but a battery fault.

Looking at the pictures there seems to be fire at the rear of the roof area, no batteries there.

The back looks scorched to me.

They are in the back iirc, it's closer to the APU.

You referring to the Heathrow incident? I doubt they would close the runways at 4.30pm for a drill.

Did you miss that one of the busiest airports in the world was closed for several hours and planes were diverted? They don't do such things for fire fighter drills...

Batteries are located in the forward and mid avionics bays.

There is a galley and distribution point at the back however and I remember on one of the test flights a distribution board caught fire.

Will be watching this with interest, but this isn't battery related.
