COME back. You know you want too
I remembered I still have Total War: Shogun 2 to play, so hopefully that will scratch my strategy itch when I need it to (hopefully it has ultrawide support...).
Not wishing to tempt you further but just can't go without giving Subnautica a mention. A great game that looks great on an ultra-wide.
Enjoy the new monitor when it comes, there's no going back after experiencing a screen like that!
I did have Subnautica on my list, but I couldn't find a good deal for it. I'll have a look again in the Christmas sales, though.
I also noticed when activating my Assassin's Creed: Origins key that I actually still have three other assassin's creed games unplayed in my account - Revelations, III and Black Flag.
Now I can't decide if I should go through these first (which presumably would take ages...) or just skip straight to Origins. I can't remember what was happening in the overall AC storyline anyway so I guess I wouldn't be missing that, but are any of those worth playing before Origins?
Nahhh no real need. Origins is set way before them anyways (excluding Odyssey which is the latest one) so there is no in game story overlap like you did in some of the earlier ones. Similarly the real world stuff (outside the Animas) is kept pretty light so also no real issue. I mean the other's are solid games in thier own right, but not missing anything plot wise really.
Saying that, one day playing black flag may be worthwhile along with revelations, both solid games in thier own right.
Ah, right. Cheers.
I do remember III getting mixed reviews on release.
I like the look of Origins from what I've seen, but Black Flag was well-liked too from what I recall?
Cool.
Well, it's here, up and running. First impressions are great.
No dead pixels I can see - hooray!
I can't detect any backlight bleed (thought this room may not be dark enough yet)
There is IPS glow , but it's very minimal except in the bottom left, but that disappears when I lean back in my chair. Plus I'm still on 55 brightness, which probably should come down a touch.
There are colour warmth variations at lower brightness levels. When I knock the brightness below 50, there becomes a noticeable coldness to left side and warmth to the right side of the display. At 55 brightness, it's not really noticeable (though that is a touch too bright). Needs some playing with, but nothing terrible.
Very pleased/relieved!
BUT, the game I was playing before it arrived doesn't support UW natively- will have to look for a fix.

Let me know if it works
And welcome to the Ultrawidemasterrace!![]()
Go watch a movie, its nice without the borders
LOL - Yes, this, this and this
A simple thing but somehow gives you the feels![]()
Cheers! It is glorious!
But, regarding Life Is Strange - does this note "Update: since the release of Episode 3 black bars enforce a 16:9 picture in all resolutions !" mean that the fixes no longer work? (It looked a bit complex/wonkey anyway, tbh).
Downloading The Old Blood, as that is listed with support on WSGF.
Ahh, didn't spot that.
Yeh, looks like the devs scuppered any UW support.
Oh well, plenty of other fish in the ultrawide sea.
